1954

With the help of Bob's brother, Bill Tallman, the first official production run of Tallman Ladders was completed and delivered to local growers, marking the beginning of a family business built on quality craftsmanship and innovation.

1957

As demand for Tallman Ladders continued to increase, the company expanded its operations in Hood River, OR allowing the family business to serve more growers and dealers throughout the region.

Today

Tallman Ladders remains a third-generation family-owned business, proudly manufacturing durable aluminum orchard ladders in the USA and serving customers across the country and around the world.

Where It All Began

Built From a Real Need

Tallman Ladders began when orchardist Bob Tallman Sr. needed a lighter, more dependable alternative to traditional wooden orchard ladders. Drawing on his experience working with aluminum at Lockheed Aircraft during World War II, he developed a ladder that was durable, lightweight, and easier to use.

As neighboring growers saw the advantages, requests quickly followed and a family business was born.

Three Generations Strong

Growing Through Three Generations

In 1975, Bob Tallman Jr. took over the family business and expanded sales across the nation and internationally. He oversaw raw material improvements and manufacturing process changes making the ladders even more durable and longer lasting. In 2009, Bob passed the reigns to his daughter Brenda Tallman-Kaiser and she has been overseeing the day to day operation of the company ever since. Bob's other children are also involved in the company. Dave Tallman travels to farm shows networking with fellow orchardists and farm workers. Tamera Tallman oversees advertising and marketing, giving us a more modern approach to growing the family business. Tallman Ladders continues to stay family owned and is still committed to old-school family values of quality, integrity and American made craftsmanship.
